When carrying out an initial full scan the process iavd, which I assume is the actual virus checking engine, goes to sleep. This has happened twice - I have yet to successfuly complete a full scan. The files it dozes off on were not the same. However, they were both "foreign" files - one a Windows regufee and the other a Linux wanderer. Both have been scanned in the past by reputable virus checkers with no known viruses (I know, that doesn't say much!).
Any ideas why this might be happening?

Hi timewart, could you please post us the 2 files the scan got stuck on? This will let us try and recreate the problem.

Thanks!

They are far too big to post - one is an e-mail database, the other an exe file.

Screen dump attached.

This time decided to sleep when scanning an MP3 file.

Too big to upload, but, trust me, it's just an ordinary MP3 file. The behaviour is random - does not depend on which file is being scanned.
