I'm running Privacy Guardian 4.1.0.37 , Windows XP, Internet Explorer and I have a question on the cookie keeper. On the list of cookies that I am keeping I have noticed the same cookies but at the end has the following:
[1].txt or [2].txt and so on...... My question is: What does the [1].txt stand for ? Are these just copies of the same cookie and could I delete the copies and keep just one to keep my cookie list short ?

Hi
This can sometimes mean that they are cookie fragments.
To be honset, cookies are not the biggest online threat, and I tend to ignore them in general.
Hope that helps

That tag ([1] or [2]) normally occur when there is/are file/s with the same name already exist so then the browser still go ahead creating the file with additional number at the end of the same file name. let me know if you need further explanation.

Example: Do try it.!

- Right Click on your Desktop
- select New
- Text Document

Doing above will create a "New Text Document.txt"

Now if you try this again creating another document by following above instruction you will see another document with filename "New Text Document (2).txt" and so on....

I hope this answer your question.

since you are aware of the cookies you are keeping, having duplicate is not a problem. however cookies can be bad too because it can store your personal information in it.
