Today I installed SD 5.5.1.322 and then installed Site Guard add on.

Everything went fine but after installing the addon SD could not update itself neither my other apps could search for updates

Before installing the add on everything was ok.
What could have happened?

I'm using XP Pro SP3.

Hi Charlespt,

With regards to this problem, do you have an internet connection at all? or are you unable to update on specific applications only? What applications are having problems with the updates? What other security software do you have installed?

Could you uninstall SG and see if there are any issues. I'll check this out once, I receive the above info and give this a test run.

Hi AChen thanks for the reply :)

To answer your questions:

Yes I have internet connection,

While having SG add I could not receive connection and update all my applications including SD,

I only have NOD32 antivirus running.

I've already uninstalled SG and everything is fine again.

Hello

I have had a similar problem with the last 2 versions of the site guard add on.

When I install it is fine but after a reboot my internet connection is completely dead(ie white screen under browser). Uninstalling the add on returns the internet connection to normal. This has only happened recently with the last 2 versions, prior to this there were no problems.

SD 5.5.1.322, Outpost Security Suite, Threatfire 3.5.0.21 (level 3) & Winpatrol is my security setup. I am using XP SP3 although I have only tried the site guard add with SP2.

Charlespt, thanks for the info. I'll pass this on to the devs to investigate. Could be related to SP3.

Blec, could you try the following below:
For Windows XP:

1. Go to Start Menu > Run > Type in: cmd > OK
2. The command prompt window will open, type in: netsh winsock reset

Anthony,

Thanks for the help.

I'll get v6.0 running & try the site guard add on for that.
