Hi
Send a Private Message to Achen (http://www.pctools.com/forum/member.php?u=3) here on the board and he'll sort this out for you.

Something that might be worth changing that i noticed...

If your bank card details have changed or the card has renewed the auto renewal can't take place so you get an email telling you so. The email doesn't give the regged name in the email. Now this could confuse if you have used your email for another non pc literate family member. the only way the details are revealed is clicking the link and a lot later down the payment chain. Additionally the price is not mentioned at all until after you have entered all the card details and moved further on the process. it should really give the amount at the start.

thx for replying, infact i was hoping that you told me that they stopped with that strategy because i can't find anything on the faq etc about how to cancel. But that just like the dirty strategy some of the porn sites use . At least SD could tell in faq whether they still do this trick or not, hmm. I'm not interested getting an account. It must be possible to cancel in an easy way. And i have not change my creditcard and really don't want to renew my creditcard to get rid of this.

btw now i created an account and it is not possible to cancel, only to buy buy buy, hmmm.

However now i wrote to the support - perhaps they can help me. But still i think it is incredible for a company using a strategy with automatically renewing and not write anything in FAQ and help etc about how to cancel it. It will certainly not make me in the mood buying pc tools products to my company.

Hi
I don't actually know a company that doesn't use the automatic renewal system! Before buying prograsms you should read the License Agreement for terms such as automatic renewal.

vecchio, I'm with you on this one, makes life easy, they also notify you by email about a month before renewal. If you don't want to renew it's quite simple, use the My Account option from the PCTools home page, I used this recently to cancel 2 subscriptions I set up for clients, I can now sell them new licenses from the affiliate/reseller portal. Its quite clear and simple to do.

mjq424,

My 1-year-only sub to A-A-2007 just expired. The credit card I used is now replaced with a new CC account number, so if my subscription with them had an auto-renewal, it failed. I've found it interesting that they seem to not care, because I received no warning email notices from them, and no emails begging me to renew with their latest version.

Reviews of their more recent product have not measured up to PC Tools SD reviews, so I do not plan to go with their version "2008", even for secondary on-demand scanning. However, their version "2008" is Vista 64-bit compatible! (...per info in their FAQ's)

Hi
I used to recommend Ad-Aware, but I no longer do. It has fallen behind times and doesn't meet the high standards required in a malware removal program.
Interesting that they don't notice about your license expiry

I am agreed 100% with you. Ad-Aware time has gone.
And by the way, Lavasoft (Ad-Aware) have confirmed they've had discussions with ASK about toolbar. LOL. How to trust them?
