I have SD v322 and when a short scan is completed, all is ok, but in the scan summary, I get "Infections Ignored: 1". (The "1" is not in bold font) Is this normal? Why do I get this? And why would SD ignore an infection?
PS; I also had trouble with downloading the new updates, but all is ok now.
Thanks Tony

Hi
The "ignored infections" tend to be low risk items such as cookies or temporary internet files in the cache and are nothing to worry about. You can stop Spyware Doctor from displaying this information by changing the following setting:
Click Settings > Scan Settings
Uncheck the box next to "show low level risks in results list" (I can't remember the exact text for this option but it is similar to this)
Hope that helps

But the more important point is that PCT should simply allow us to display the name and location of those "ignored infections" like some of their competitors do. This is a trivial task to do. Click on it and display the info. There's no good reason _not_ to.

Is there an option to take care of these low risks as well?

That's odd... Why even detect it if it can't take care of it? It seems very pointless since one of the things mentioned here is that you can't view locations, etc. in order to manually take care of it - totally pointless. Just missing what I asked about in my previous post makes it very bad IMO.

Basically, SD will not remove these, because the user may have chose to ignore these items. See (3) below.
There are three possibilities as to why Spyware Doctor is ignoring items.
1. They are harmless cookies.
2. Spyware Doctor cannot remove the threat for now and requires a reboot to remove the threat.
3. The items could be the items in your Global Actions List
Harmless Cookies - Spyware Doctor usually detects any cookies residing in your system during Scans. Sometimes, some of these cookies are harmless and maybe also required by the websites you regularly visit. For either reason, Spyware Doctor will ignore these items during Fix.
Threats - There are threats that Spyware Doctor would require a Reboot in order to remove them. These threats are most likely protected by a running process which stops Spyware Doctor from removing them. During reboot, Spyware Doctor gets the priority to run first amongst other applications, which means Spyware Doctor can delete the infection before they get protected by any running process.
Global Actions List - The items on your Global Actions List at times will be detected by Spyware Doctor but will not be removed during the Fix stage.
Ohso, this has already been added as a feature request to have these ignored items display more info :)

I see. I didn't know SD detects all cookies, but I really hope it takes care of real tracking cookies.
