View Full Version : Trojan AgentSD5 - Disabled SD

I recently had Trojan AgentSD5, detected by Spyware Doctor and apparently dealt with.

However, my Spyware Doctor started giving me strange, but official looking, messages AND is now totally disabled, It's even ripped off my product licence registration, which it won't let me reinstate.

Despite an email to Support - marked Very Urgent - I have had no reply in two days.

I would like to speak to someone but no phone numbers are given for the UK office.

This is my last ditch attempt to sort this before cancelling my SD subscription. I've only had it for about a month. It's not very impressive that the very spyware it's supposed to protect me from, can disable it.

Sorry for the rant but I am very frustrated and disappointed in both the product and its support.

Has anyone had the same problem and/or is able to help?

Many Thanks

Hi fluffyfour,

Could you please uninstall/reinstall Spyware Doctor and then run the Malware Detective tool.

Uninstall:
1. Ensure that you have fully exited the application. To fully exit from Spyware Doctor please right click on the Spyware Doctor icon in the notification area (next to the clock on the Windows taskbar) and select Shutdown from the menu that appears. Please also close any instances of Internet Explorer or other browsers.
2. Perform an uninstall of Spyware Doctor from:
Start > Programs > Spyware Doctor > Uninstall Spyware Doctor
3. **IMPORTANT** Make sure that the Spyware Doctor folder (which by default would be under 'C:\Program Files') no longer exists. If the 'Spyware Doctor' folder still exists, please delete the folder.

Re-Install:
1. Download Spyware Doctor directly from www.pctools.com/spyware-doctor/download/
2. Install Spyware Doctor that was downloaded in step #1 above

Once Spyware Doctor has been installed, run a Smart Update, then go to Tools-> Malware Detective and follow the prompts. I have sent you're ticket number via PM (private message). Please use this number :)
