Modifying windows2000 professional local protection settings, everyone is now banned out of the machine. Anyone know a registry editor for DOS to change that settings? Or any way to get around of this problem?

Hints / questions (no final solution):
Does the admin account still have access or is the admin locked out too?
do you have an emergency restart diskette to start up with ?
is safe mode (hit f8 during initial phase of boot) accessible to get you back into business?
otherwise J think its all too bad, you will have to re-install and then restore from your saves. Re-install without formating the disk should give you access to recover data files, but all security related stuff is gone or is pointing to previous users.
J once on a test machine took away the rights to access the root directory on C: drive from usergroup Everyone and then was left with the same problem.

I know this is an old post so its probably not relevant anymore, but did you try remotely editing the registry from another machine on the network?
To do this on Wint/2000 run regedt32, click on Registry, Select computer
