I purchased this product last year. I since received a virus and had to format my pc. Yesterday I received a charge on my credit card statement for $49.95 which after reading the description and numerous online threads, I can ascertain is related to a renewal for this product. How non-user friendly for your company to automatically assume that I will like it for another year considering I no longer have the application. Please arrange a refund back to my credit card within 48hrs otherwise, I will be contacting my bank for a charge back and taking legal action for an unauthorised and fraudulent transaction on your part, not too dissimilar to theft. I await your reply. Please note I do not have a licence code or order number as the program is no longer on my system, however you have my email address and credit card details obviously. This will be enough for you to confirm who I am. Thanks Charlie

My credit card was automatically credited $ $49.95 Canadian for DRI*PC Tools.Com 800 764 5783 for a software subscription I do not want and did not authorize your company to charge .I would like to have these funds refunded to my account. I have notified the credit card company concerning this. The only reason i became a member of this site was to have access to send this mail. I expect these funds to be returned in the very near future'

yours truly.

I hate to sound like a jerk, but some of you people don't know how to read. What PC Tools is doing is not illegal at all and you have no right to take legal action against them. Next time when you go to purchase a product from a company you might want to read their License Agreement. Allow me to quote part of the agreement from PC Tools.

SUBSCRIPTION PURCHASES

If you are purchasing the Software on a subscription basis, then, unless your license is terminated earlier in accordance with the EULA, you agree to allow us to automatically extend your right to receive support and updates for successive periods equal to the length of the initial term, by directly charging your credit card or debiting your debit card prior to each anniversary of the date of purchase for an amount that is no greater than PC Tools' then current price of the Software, excluding promotional and discount pricing. The software support and updates you receive during any renewal term will be as specified in these terms and conditions or as specified by us from time to time.

If you have selected a method of payment other than credit card and direct debit, your subscription will only be renewed if you provide us with a valid payment prior to the anniversary of the date of purchase. We will email you prior to this date to remind you to renew your account.

You agree to provide us with current, complete, and accurate information for your billing account and will promptly notify us if there is any change in your billing address and, where you have paid by credit card, will promptly notify us if there is any change to your credit card number, or credit card expiration date or if your credit card is cancelled (for example, for loss or theft).

You may terminate your subscription to receive software support and updates at any time by contacting our customer support team at 1800 764 5783 (US customers only) or any other local number provided by PC Tools in your region, or by email at least twenty (20) days prior to any anniversary date informing them that you would like to terminate your right to automatically renew your subscription. Note that termination does not entitle you to a refund for any amounts already paid, subject to our 30 day money-back guarantee.

Please note that our 30 day money-back guarantee applies to each additional renewal term.
