I was surprised to see that my bank account was debited - May. 27, 2008 May. 28, 2008 DRI*PCTOOLS.COM 800-764-5783 ON $39.95
I did purchase the spyware doctor over a year ago -- however I did not renew my subscription - I see from the forum that I am not the first person to have suffered this fate.
Secondly I live in Canada and I am unable to phone the number provided - This is not aceptable! I would like my money refunded to my account - and If I do not receive a refund then I will have to suffer the inconvenience of cancelling my current credit card.

Did you read everthing before you bought this product? Well, I had the same experience as you, but I accepted it becourse I did not read terms and so on.
Buisness is buisness - and as long they don't cheat, well, it is your own fault.
Everytime you buy something, read everything. Common sence - is what we learn here in denmark about doing buisness on the internet

I heard a lot of mishap with this stuff hence why I have not decided if I want to renew.

On the autorenewal issue, I simply ignored the request and it didn't autorenew. It keeps asking me to renew but I ignore it. But lately I noticed that the new adds for Registry Mechanic say that it would work for up to 3 PC's. Possibly that was even true when I originally bought the product, but I don't remember it. So I have two questions:
1) If I renew now, will I be able to use the product on a total of three PC's or is that deal only for completely new purchases?
2) There has now been quite an interval between the time when my original year ran out and now. If I renew now, will my renewal year start now, or will it be back-dated to my original renewal date, in which case I will probably have just a month left in my "new" year.
If I can renew and use it on three computers for the next 12 months it would probably be worthwhile. Otherwise, it would make more sense to buy an entirely new one and put it on the three computers.
The thing is that it is actually a very good product and I think it worst the best of any register cleaner/fixer that I have ever used.

Saberman, you can renew your current license and use it on upto 3 PC's, but I'm not sure about your 2nd question. I would think that it runs from the date of payment, but to be totally sure send achen a private message and he'll be able to answer that one for you.
It certainly is a great deal for uptp 3 PC's, we'll see this more and more with software, at last manufacturers have realised many households have more than 1 PC.

@Sabermen, Ive emailed them about that and you can actually used your license for up to 3 computers. Simply register using the same license details and license code bro..
and your renewal, i think you can renew anytime even if its already been expired..This will be the same with any other company thats subscriptions based..

1) Yes
2) If you are to renew now, it will start from the date of renewal since you're license has already expired :) However, if you're license is due to expire say in July and you renew today then the 12 months will be added to that date in July :)
