Hi Anthony and All,
As we know, some of us still having problems with Thunderbird and Outlook. We waited and waited and waited but no progress in this area. I am sure your developers are keen to sort this out too, may be it was due to lack of info that made them stall.

As you probably can recall, I am having this issue with 5.5 (any releases) and have to go back to 5.1 due to this. I did further testing today and here is what I found with v5.5.1.322
1. Thunderbird, Outlook 2003 and Outlook Express works fine with MS Exchange and POP3 server.
2. Thunderbird, Outlook 2003 and Outlook Express causes locks up when I tried to connect to an IMAP server.

I think that SD+AV v5.5.1.322 got problems with IMAP protocol - it seems that no matter what email client I am using as soon as I try to connect to an IMAP server that email client just stall.

Definitely I have tried to disable EmailGuard but no joy. If I disable OG completely say for 5 minutes then during that 5 minutes time-frame things are working fine.

Could you please tell this to your developer or even try to replicate this over there.

For other people who are having the same faith as me, would you be able to try to check your setting, and perhaps confirm if we have problems with IMAP or not.

thanks to all.
Gill!

Thanks for the additional info. This is one problem we are working on fixing :)
If you look at this thread - we've received a lot of information that should help us investigate this - http://www.pctools.com/forum/showthread.php?t=51674.

I’ve also got the same problem. Tried Outlook 2007, Windows Live Mail and Thunderbird 2, all programs on XP SP3 and with IMAP folders.
On my Vista Ultimate SP1 I have the same problem with Windows Mail (also IMAP and the same mail account).
I’m also running 5.5.1.332.
I just uninstalled Nod32 last weekend and bought PC Tools Spyware Doctor with Antivirus. I’m not really sure if this was a wise decision…

Hi Guys,

We've located the problem and have implemented a fix :) This fix won't be available just yet as we are currently running further tests before we release the fix. Once its available, I'll provide an update.

Anthony,
Finally those developers got a clue :-).
I wonder who is the team leader or architect?
So incompetent :-)
