Ok had the older version and it was working fine, so I tried to upgrade to the new 5.5 or whatever it is called, I had 5.1. Well when I installed it a error came and said ( The procedure entry point GetArmadilloVariable could not be located in the dynamic libary). I have tried to unistall it and reinstall and sitll the same thing. I even tried to do a system restor and it would not even let me do that because of the same thing. If anyone can help me out with this problem that would be great. I forgot it also says something about sdinfo.sdp and the error code that pops up is (0x800423F3). I am running basic Vista as well.

Hi Jgro461,

Could you please do the following:

1. Click on the Start button. The Start menu will appear.
2. Select ''Shut Down'' from the menu (''Turn off Computer'').
The 'Shut Down Windows' dialog box will appear.
3. Select ''Shut down'' (or, ''Turn Off'') and click the Yes (or OK) button.
4. When the computer starts back up, begin immediately by pressing the F8 key repeatedly until the Windows Startup menu appears with various options.
5. By using the up and down arrow keys on the keyboard, select 'Safe Mode'.
Do not select 'Safe Mode with networking' or any other modes.
6. Login to your account (if asked).
7. Wait and eventually Windows will start in Safe Mode.
8. Navigate to the Spyware Doctor folder (which by default would be under 'C:\Program Files') please delete this folder.
9. Select Start>Run
10. Type in regedit and click OK
11. Please locate the following keys and remove them:

HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\PCTools\Spyware Doctor
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\PCTools\Spyware Doctor
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\Curr entVersion\Uninstall\Spyware Doctor

Download and install SD by clicking here (http://www.pctools.com/mirror/sdsetup.exe).

I did what you said uninstall it and reinstalled it same thing keeps happing. It is telling me that it can not find GetArmidillo in dynamic libary. It also says that Pctstray.exe Entry can not be found. On a note I never had this problem with the version before this but once I downloaded this one is when everything started happing. If anything give me a link to download the other one and I will be happy with that or tell me how to fix it.

Are you able to install SD at all? If so could you exit SD and replace SDinfo.sdp in the Spyware Doctor directory (c:\Program Files\Spyware Doctor) with the attached file.

I have also come across this error from a customer of mine, he is running the starter edition from google although I have tried uninstalling and installing the latest build from the PCTools website. The OS is Vista Home Basic with SP1 installed. I have also removed all registry keys before reinstalling and cleared all temp folders. I have also tried replacing the file with the one supplied above.

So far none of these have fixed the problem, any further help is greatly appreciated.

Thanks

Simon
