Hello,
OS - Vista, SP1, all updates.
Security programs:
Eset Antivir 3.0.650.0
Comodo Firewall 3.0.22.349
Windows Defender - disable (including service)
SD v.5.5.1.322, configuration:
- On Guard detection unwanted apps -disable
- on scan detection unwanted apps - disable
- rootkit detection - enable
- kernel compatibility -enable
I am really tired and fed up with v.5.5.1.322
I spent a half of day today to find out the reason why my comp got frozen again and again.
I use CCleaner, hope everybody knows it, also other programs (SBMAV cleaner, Glary Utilities) to clean garbage on disks. I use these programs for long, not a month.
So, no one program mentioned above was not able to clean and work, got frozen, not responsible and when I tried to start Task Manager to terminate any of them... I was not able to start even Task Manager, because the whole OS got completely not responsible.
The only way to restart computer was just turn off electricity supply.
I checked this 5! times (try to clean garbage, frozen program, then frozen Windows, restart turning on electricity supply, disabling SD) and the same result.
When I disable SD, everything was OK and runs smooth.
I just completely disappointed with the last version of SD.
I am now back to SD v 5.5.0.212 (hopefully I safed the installation exe) and there is no problem, it seems all is OK.
My opinion ( and opinion of my pc) that last version of SD is full of hidden bugs. Just fast release from v5.5.321 to v5.5.322 indicates that SD was not fully tested, also there were loop-ups with updates, problem with Intelli-Signature counter (this what I just noticed), today conflict with known application and freezing computer
And who knows how many hidden bugs it has?
Sorry, but I am not a tester, I am a consumer.
It seems like you do not need to get spyware on your pc, your antispaware will crash your OS itself in better way.
Sorry, but really tired and fed up doing that investigation.
