Since I updated Spyware Doctor yesterday, 3/2/08, I have had some new problems. I now have Product Version 5.1.0.273 and Database Version 5.09320.

When I boot up with Spyware Doctor installed, I get error messages. When I start Spyware Doctor after I boot up I get a message from Microsoft that the Driver Utility Control has a problem. In addition two of my removable drives had their drive letters changed.

I went into the Control Panel and fixed those drive letter errors.

Until the problem is corrected, I will disable Spyware Doctor before I shut down and then initialize it after boot up.

The problem could have come from an automatic Microsoft upgrade which clashes now with Spyware Doctor.

I use Windows XP SP2.

Hi
Please note that you are using an out-of-date version of Spyware Doctor. The latest version is 5.5.0.204 and is available here (http://www.pctools.com/spyware-doctor/download/)
Please uninstall your current version before installing the new version.
Hope that helps

Thanks for the advice. I uninstalled the old version and installed the new version. So far I don't see any problem notices after rebooting with Spyware Doctor 5.5.0204 installed.

I did notice the full scan of my PC went much faster with the new version as compared to the old version.
