Hello,
I just got a notification from Element 5 that my "Spyware Doctor - Annual Subscription" license has been successfully renewed. After reading several angry posts on your 'automatic renewal' actions, I decided to go over all my emails from PCT to check how I could've missed the notifications that should've preceded the automatic renewal. Since I found none I decided to go to my Gmail account's spam folder and search for it there among thousands of spam emails. I found it by searching for 'pctools' which also yielded dozens of other spam-related messages.
I decided to go to my PCT account and review the billing details but since I couldn't find my login details I used the 'Forgot your password?' link. Amazingly enough, I got a notification that "You do not appear to have signed up for PC Tools MyAccount" when I entered the SAME EMAIL ADDRESS THAT YOU CONTACTED ME (i.e. the Gmail one where all your messages were filed as spam).
The ONLY reason I was even aware that you had charged me, is because of the Element 5 billing notification that I received. Luckily, Google doesn't consider their emails as spam. I don't understand how one of the biggest companies to combat spam and spyware isn't in Google's white-lists.
Furthermore, the "renewal advice" email mentioned that PCT will renew the subscription "approximately 10 days prior to the expiry date of March 12, 2008". Why can't you be more specific? Are 12 days equal to "approximately 10 days"? I also found the same notification on Registry Mechanic that expires on March 19th -
I DON'T WANT TO RENEW MY REGISTRY MECHANIC SUBSCRIPTION!
I'd appreciate it if someone could get back to me on these issues.
