I have so much problem with 5.5.0.178 with antivirus (also without antivirus guard) on Vista Home Premium and McAfee Suite (freeze,no mail, false positive, hungry ram, etc) so i disinstalled them and i attempt new version.
So i am very happy to see new version 5.5 but same result!!
It isn't my system problem with Spy Sweeper Webroot all work perfect !!
Is not possible that don't work ok with McAfee or Norton or with many problem because they are a must!!
I like Spyware Doctor old version but this is a great delusion.

You may want to use the SD standalone, since you already have mcafee security suite and its quite possibly conflicting with each other. Get a moderator to temporarily disable the AV plugin and see if this helps.

For the email problem, check out - http://www.pctools.com/forum/showthread.php?t=50466&page=2. I think a fix for this will be available soon.

So you have tried v5.5.0.204?

Yes i have try last version same problem with previos version; all suggest not resolve any problem...

What are you system specs?

You could also try the following to increase the virtual memory by going to - control panel > system > advanced > performance settings > advanced > virtual memory change > would suggest changing it to whats recommended by windows.

SD standalone should work fine with Norton, cause thats my set up on one of my pc's and its running with no problems. Not to sure about McAfee, but there doesnt appear to be any issues on the forum besides the email one.

It would help if you could give as much information as possible so that the pctools devs can fix this problem.

No problem with Spyware Doctor with antivirus 4.xxx 5.0.xxx
Problem with all version 5.5 with or without antivirus with or without OnGuard:
freeze, no email, slowdown, hungry ram, no responce etc..

Before installation every full cleanup of system with CCleaner, TuneUp 2008.

If You read in the forum many people have similar unresolt problem with 5.5
not with other previos version.

With Webroot Spy Swepeer with Antivirus no any problem (only i have disable
email guard because include in McAfee)
