View Full Version : Won't Start, Continues to Freeze!

I just purchased Spyware Doctor 5.5 with Antivirus. First, whenever turning on the computer the program will not start. It repeatedly says "starting" and eventually that the engine cannot connect. This first started happening after the second smart update. When the program does finally start (which is 1 out of 3 tries) it often freezes my computer and will not let IE 7 open or anything for that matter. If IE does open it freezes shortly after. I've had to unplug my computer over and over. I have had to uninstall it 3 times now and once it's removed everything works fine. I have no other security programs installed.

I'm really regretting this and hoping I can get my money back. Can any one help get this thing working? I like the program but it completely destroys a completely functional computer!?

Hi
Can I ask for a little bit more information?
What operating system are you using?
What other security software are you using?
How much virtual memory do you have allocated?

Hi!

I'm using windows XP media center edition sp2, I have no other security programs installed, and as far as virtual memory it says under virtual memory that total paging file size for all drives is 372 mb if thats what you mean.

Hi Tailgator133,

Try SDv5.5.0.204. I understand that you have been having problems downloading this build. I've replied to you're other thread about not being able to download the latest build. Try deleting you're temporary internet files before you attempt to download, or you can try using a different browser to see if this helps.

This build (v5.5.0.204) the developers have focused resolving issues with crashes, hangs and freezes experienced by some of the users.
