I want to start by saying that I used to swear by PCTools Spyware Doctor, I have recommended the product to all of my friends and now I have to back off.

My problems started on my HP Pavilion DV8000t 17” Laptop:

2.2Ghz Dual Core
2GB Ram
240GB 7200 RPM Harddrive
Windows Vista Ultimate Edition

I was experiencing the Freezes and Hangs after upgrading to the latest fixes on version 5.5, I then disabled Spyware Doctor on my computer and have been flying without it.

When I saw the sticky thread announcing the new version (Spyware Doctor v5.5.0.204) I was ecstatic, finally I could re-enable my favorite tool.

I had just purchased a new Laptop:

HP Pavilion HDX HDX9200 20” Laptop:
Intel Core 2 Duo Processor T9500 (2.60 GHz, 6 MB L2 Cache, 800MHz FSB)
4GB DDR2 System Memory (2 Dimm) Ram
500GB 5400RPM SATA Dual Hard Drive (250GB x 2)
20.1" WUXGA High-Definition HP Ultra Brightview Widescreen Display(1920x1200) - "True HD" 1080p res
512MB NVIDIA GeForce 8800M GTS
Blu-Ray ROM with SuperMulti DVD+/-R/RW Double Layer
Integrated HP HDTV Hybrid TV Tuner and 4 Altec Lansing speakers +the HP Triple Bass Reflex subwoofer
HP Imprint Finish (Dragon) + Fingerprint Reader + Webcam + Microphone
Intel(R) PRO/Wireless 4965AGN Network Connection and Bluetooth(TM)
Windows Vista Ultimate (64-bit)

I then downloaded PCTools Spyware Doctor v5.5.0.204 and attempted to install and received a message saying that 64Bit Windows is not supported, what a disappointment.

So, now I basically own a product that I cannot use.

Hi IMZ14U2NV,

At the moment the current version of SD is not supported with Windows 64 bit platforms. I cannot provide a planned date at this stage, but if I do hear of anything, I'll let you know. If you would like a refund, please send a PM with you're license details and I will assist you further.

Achen,
If you could get me any details on any plans that PCTools have for supporting Vista 64Bit it would really help.
I would really like to stick with the product as it has been a lifesaver in the past.
