Does the starter edition still have much less signatures than the paid version or are they the same?

The Starter Edition has about 220.000 sign, the paid (full) above 600.000.

Did I miss something -- I don't remember seeing that number of signatures was a difference between the trial/starter edition and the full paid version of PCT. If missing, I suggest PCT add this information up front to the existing "can not remove infections" deal.

Other than the obvious answer of there are about 380.000 fewer signatures, what is the real importance of the fewer signature? What are us trial/starter users missing? Are we really only 1/3 protected?

Are there fewer AV signatures as well in the trial/starter editions of PCT SD w/A?

Thanks.

Hi
There is actually a difference between the trial and the Google Pack Starter Edition.
The trial has the full database, but cannot remove threats found on scans.
The Starter Edition has a smaller database, but can remove threats found. It also has fewer OnGuard tools in it's real-time protection.
There is no "Starter Edition" for Spyware Doctor with Antivirus, just a trial, which behaves exactly like the Spyware Doctor trial (full database, but cannot remove threats)
Hope that helps

Thanks. I am using the trial version of SDwAV that I downloaded directly from the PCT website, but the main screen only shows 220.000 Intelli-Signatures. I've been using the trial version for several weeks and have manually run SmartUpdate several times and the number of intelli-sigs has not jumped to 600.000. I can also confirm that my trial version of SDwAV does not remove found threats.

Also the full paid version of SDwAV costs about $10 more than the vanilla SD. What is the difference between the full paid SDwAV and the full paid SD with the seperately downloaded AV plugin?

Thanks.

Thanks again for your quick response.

Then my original request that the fine print text that describes the limitations of the trial version of SD and SDwAV should in all fairness include this very significant additional information.

Also can you take a shot at my other question from earlier (sorry for multipart postings)? Other than the obvious answer that there are about 380.000 fewer signatures in the trial/starter editions, what is the real importance of fewer signatures? What threats, classes of threats, type of threat, risk level of threats, etc., are us trial/starter edition users missing? What has been left out? Are we really only 1/3 protected?

Thanks.
