In order to install a new firewall, I need to shut down this program temporarily. Right clicking on the tray icon shows an option to "Shutdown". Watching the process made me think it was almost uninstalling itself! Is using "Shutdown" the right way to temporarily disable it? And then to "enable" I just right click "Open" ? Sorry about these very basic questions. I'm using Version 5.5.0.178 and it's been running fine and I don't want to do anything to change that.

Hi, yes that's the way to go. When you want to start SD again just launch the program again.

Thanks for the reply Loz. Can you tell me why the shutdown is so elaborate? Can't recall all the verbiage, but it shut down scads of things.

Hi
Shutdown disables the services and drivers of Spyware Doctor. For a full shutdown, you should restart your computer.
