I keep getting the message that I need the supervisors password. To the best of my knowledge there has never been one entered. This is on a home computer.

You have 2 methods of which you can try to removed the Content Advisory Password in either IE 4 or IE 5.

Easy Method:
Search for *.pwl files on your computer and delete them ALL. These are password files, you will lose all passwords you've previously entered into the Computer.

Not-So-Easy Method:
Run REGEDIT, Goto HKEY Local Machine, Software, Microsoft, Windows, Current Version, Policies, Ratings. Look for the file named "key" and delete it.

This may or may not require a restart, but will solve your problem. Just a suggestion, make a backup of your registry before going in to edit it. If anything goes wrong, you'll be screwed without a backup. Better safe than sorry kids.

Working at a couple of High Schools I find the content advisor password enabled quite often. Using REGEDIT to delete the supervisor password works well...No restart is necessary.
