I'm thinking about trying/testing PTISS, but want to know first if PTISS is designed to work with only one kernel module for the complete suite (like mostly all new suites are doing at the moment) or have all components their own kernel module? Single kernel mode often results in very lesser resource/memory consumption.

Hi
PCTIS has multiple drivers that operate in kernel mode. There are several for the firewall component alone. I'm not sure, but I think there are 4 drivers. Putting all the code in one driver is quite difficult.
Hope that helps

So may I conclude that PCTIS is nothing more then an installer and a GUI to install/manage the separate components like, SpywareDoctor+AV, FirewallPlus and SpamMonitor, instead of using just one kernel and a GUI like Eset Smart Security is doing at the moment?

Hi
No that is not quite true. There are 3 processes for PCTIS, the service, auxillary service and the trayicon. For ESS there are two processes. However, ESS has approx 4 drivers (I have tried it, and it is good+quick), it is perhaps the name that is confusing with ESS. The number of drivers to processes is irrelevant, as one process can integrate with many drivers.
Hope that helps
