VPN settings for Firewall

I have to disable PCTIS FW each time I connect to a remote server via VPN. I've looked for a way to allow it, like opening port 1723, but can't find the place to set this. Is there another, better way?

What VPN version are you using? VPN tends to work directory with network card bypassing application monitoring. Looking at the logs might help in analyzing which rules you will need to create. You could also post screenshots and I'll assist with creating the rules :)

Nothing exotic, just the 'Network Connections' > VPN in Windows XP Pro SP2 with automatic/default settings.
