Had been unable to get RC1 to work properly on my "test rig". Saw RC2 was available - took a chance (despite solcroft's sensible warning) and replaced PCTAV on my main PC (AMD K8 1917MHZ, 756MB RAM, XP Pro) with PCTIS RC2.

Apart from warning me that FW+ was installed when it wasn't, it's great so far (early days I know). Seems to have less impact on performance than PCTAV, especially on-access scanning of executables.
I think I've found out why the RC install is so much smaller than the betas - the 22MB definition database is a separate download.

cheers

Yes!!! So far everything is running great. Have to mention that for some reason I can never shutdown previous version before uninstalling (always get error 208) but that doesn't seem to be a problem. Will report tomorrow with more details.

Hi All,

Thanks for all the feedback.

Swannie - if you come across the error 208 message again, could you please provide a screenshot :)

PC-Pete - Could you provide us with a screenshot of the problem you are having with the Firewall?

Do you mean the "warning" at installation?

I thought I'd have to uninstall and reinstall to get it again but all I had to do was execute the RC 2 package without uninstalling and I got the same box.

Just downloaded latest version and it is great! I was not up to the first beta release but what a difference a few weeks make. This is a winner.
And I still maintain that this company provides the BEST customer support that I've seen in any of the security companies. These forums alone are great.
Kudos to PC Tools.
