5.5.0.115 (RC1)
Cannot edit or change Scheduled Task.
o Finally got Scheduled Task to work after...
o I added another New Task.
o But could not edit the New Task either.
o Deleted both Tasks; I could then add another New Task which can in turn be edited.
o Also, why does IS not remember the scheduled times that I last used from one install to another? Each new install adds weird times like 7:23:16. Where did that come from?
o This is defiantly broken.
When is the 120 DPI problem going to be fixed?
o Currently there are SEVEN screens that are either partially unreadable of totally useless as much of the data is flowing outside of the fixed window.
o This is a VERY SERIOUS PROBLEM for me as it makes much of IS useless as I cannot read many of the screens.
o See JPEG attachments.

Hi All;
The unreadable screens are only if you have Windows Properties, Settings, Advanced set up for 120 DPI.
Normally, Windows is set up for 96DPI.
I need the larger setting as I am running a 24 inch widescreen LCD monitor at 1200 x 1920 and 96DPI makes everything too small for my old eyes.
On software that is properly coded, as the DPI in Windows increases the dialog boxes will grow in size to accommodate the larger fonts. PCTIS dialog boxes are not resizing properly as they should but the text is, which means that the text is cut off by the too small dialog window.
I have gone through this scenario in many other beta tests with other companies and they almost always come through. The same thing happened years ago with Registry Mechanic but PC Tools came through with the required programming to resolve the problem. I have not had any 120 DPI problems with Registry Mechanic since as the windows resize properly.
Another method is to allow the user to drag the dialog box to a larger size so the text and buttons will fit properly. This is the method that ZoneAlarm uses. It works well as once re-sized ZA remembers the new size from one startup to another.
PC Tools seems to prefer a fixed size dialog box so the fix for them is to have it re-size depending on Windows DPI setting.
This problem is not going to go away as the trend in monitors is to larger and larger sizes. I am actually thinking about a 30 incher for next year that will run at an even higher resolution.
The problem can of course be somewhat addressed simply by reducing the resolution of the monitor but there are two problems with that scenario…
1. LCD’s produce clearer images at the native resolution.
2. I paid for the higher resolution and prefer to use it.

I had seen the other posts about the Scheduled Task problem but none of them had any work arounds for it.
I mentioned the Scheduled Task problem as I had found a work around for it as my original post stated. I thought that other users might want to know how to create and edit a schedule for this version of IS.

Hi DocLotus,
Thanks for the explanation regarding the GUI. Re scheduled tasks - I had done the same workaround as you just by playing around with it, but like you I would like each version to be already programmed with previous times when it's in final form. Right now, it probably cannot remember anything, as every install needs all the old stuff to be deleted completely.

If the 120 DPI issue is not resolved, I will have no other choice but to look elsewhere for my Internet security program as too many of the screens are not readable or are only partially readable and that makes it VERY difficult to monitor what is going on.
I have noticed that all of the many other security suites that I have tried all work correctly at 120 DPI.
I will however (for the time being) have faith that PC Tools will eventually resolve this issue.
I think once these little problems are resolved, PCTIS will be one sweet program indeed and am looking forward to that day when it becomes one of the top IS programs out there.
