Yesterday couldn't install, installed but wouldn't load and after un-install and reinstall finally able to install and it went to intelliscan but 'anti-spam' was not activated and email guard was greyed out and unable to start either. Today the program would not load. Win2K 4 with Beta 5. Beta 4 was working except I had disabled anti-spam because it slowed down getting emails to a pace unacceptable and left emails on the server.

Hi Krispin,

Could you provide us with the following information:

- Installation log:
The installation log file is created in the temporary folder.
To go to the temp folder:
Start->Run, type %temp%.
Install Log filename is : Setup Log YYYY-MM-DD .txt

Also, did you receive the following notification message:

Notification title = 'Email Protection Disabled'
Notification message = 'Layer Service Providers (LSP) installed by Spyware Doctor could not be found. Email protection is now disabled. Please refer to Help documentation for more information regarding LSP.'

When the service starts up, PCTIS verifies the validity of the LSP stack. If the chain is found to be suspicious in any way we do not insert our LSP to avoid possible loss of internet connection issues. Hence email guard and anti-spam are disabled and the notification pops up.

Well I tried to post the log and the message said my post was too long. So more time lost and hassle. Give me a break guys. This is just stupid.

Hi
You can attach the log as a text file in your next reply, or email it to the support team on support@pctools.com

Can you compress the logfile into a zip file?

Sorry, didn't read this until today. I sent the log file directly to support and am still waiting. And in answer to earlier question i get only the LSP warning on start up. K

I finally got everything working by uninstalling everything, using LSPfix to remove the lsp listing, finding all PCT files in winnt and writing to *.old and reinstalling BUT I am left with 4 PCT entries for each netbeui DEVICE in networking. I would very much like to remove these entries but am not allowed, not even in safe mode. Does this mean I must completely uninstall the network and reinstall it all? Please tell me an easier way.

Well, I spoke too soon. Checking computer management error logs everything appears to work on start up but-

Not Rready for Prime Time is Correct.

I have no desire to buy ANY program that I can not read the screens.

The 120 DPI issue is a BIG one for me as several of the screens are unreadable due to the text being cut off at the window border. As a result, I am unable to see what is going happening on several of the screens and can not change settings as check boxes and buttons are not visiable on these screens.

When, and only when THAT is fixed will I purchase PCTIS.
