Desktop Maestro crash in vista

When I try to use the scan option of Desktop Maestro in my vista Ultimate when the program has almost done with scanning, Desktop Maestro crashes and closes automatically. Everytime I try to use the scan feature, Desktop Maestro closes

How can I fix this annoying bug?

Hi Barty001,

To help resolve this, in Windows Vista there is a feature called Data Execution Prevention. Standard it is set on: '...only for critical Windows programs and services ...' Try and switch this to '...for all programs and services, except...'. and select Desktop Maestro deskmech.exe and also RMScrm.exe both found in C:\Program Files\Desktop Maestro to be excluded from Data Execution Prevention.

To access Data Execution Prevention:

1. Click Start, click Run, type sysdm.cpl, and then click OK.
2. On the Advanced tab, under Performance, click Settings.
3. On the Data Execution Prevention tab.

If the problem persists, please perform the same steps as above, but this time please include "explorer.exe" to be excluded from Data Execution Prevention.
