Hi,
We have installed PCtools Spyware Doctor Enterprise almost one month ago on selected machines within our network
The machines have also Norton Symantec Antivirus corporate edition client installed
Here is the problem:
Around 15 machines have lost their Network Connection icon and most of the Windows services are missing. They are completely unusable
Is there any conflict between Spyware doctor and Symantec AV scanner processes
It starts with a warning message from Spyware doctor and then the machine is restarted after which Windows OS will be affected
Thanks

Thanks for contacting PC Tools.
Regarding your SDE enquiry.
After installing SDE on your network you have reported the following as happening.
Around 15 machines have lost their Network Connection icon and most of the Windows services are missing. They are completely unusable. Is there a conflict between SDE and
Symantec AV scanner processes?
There are no known sociability conflicts between SDE and the Symantec AV scanner. However we would like to know if the Symantec AV scanner does indeed have an 'AntiSpyware' component?
If it does have an AntiSpyware component, we would suggest totally disabling it. On one test machine reinstall the SDE Client and see if the problem persists? If the problem does not persist then you may wish not to run that particular component while the SDE Client is installed and running on those systems?
If there are two security applications (such as two AntiSpyware apps) running at the same time on a PC, then you may experience some conflicts.
If you require further assistance on this specific request, please reply.
Kind regards,
Matt Johnson

Hi Raedaljarrah,
For us to investigate this further, could you please provide the following information:
- What is the Operating System of the client and server on all the affected systems?
- Does it affect all systems or just some? For example, is Norton & SDE running on 30 systems and only 15 are affected with the same setup? If these are different, could you please specify?
