Hi,
Wondering if the Enterprise version of Spyware Doctor is supported on Windows 2003 servers (both Standard and Enterprise versions) that have Terminal Services?? There are a couple of dozen users who use these systems and I was looking for a supported anti-spyware solution. Webroot's product is not supported on Terminal Server. The Spyware Doctor Enterprise web page does not seem to mention support for Terminal Server.

Thanks for contacting PC Tools.

Regarding your SDE enquiry.

Does SDE support Windows 2003 servers (both Standard and Enterprise versions) that have Terminal Services?

SDE does support Windows 2003 server standard and full editions.

However SDE has not been tested for a Terminal Server environment, therefore this type of installation is not fully supported at this time. However even though SDE has not been officially tested in a Terminal Server environment, it doesn’t mean that it won’t work with it.

We do have some customers running SDE successfully in Terminal Server environments.

Other non Supported Server environments: Novell networks, Citrix servers (Metaframe), NT 4.0 servers/workstations.

If we have a large amount of potential customers that wish to use SDE with the above installations. Our SDE Developers are kept up to date with these requests, to determine if the program can be developed for the non-supported environments.

Spyware Doctor Enterprise Server and Console Requirements

You are right that Spyware Enterprise support Windows Terminal Server 2003.

However......everytime i logon my terminal server, i receive the message "Cannot create IPC Queue "SW Doctor Agent" "

The reason therefore is that the IPC Queue SW Doctor Agent already exists.
And these queue is already active.

Can you fix this problem.

It looks not that professional to our users.

Thank you for the reply.

Regarding the error: 'Cannot create IPC queue "SW Doctor Agent"

Please note that this alert message appears usually on a system that runs Terminal Server Services.

However as a test we have found that once you click 'ok' on the error then open the SDE Server Console it seems to open up ok. This does not in any way affect the operational abilities of the Operating System or SDE itself.
