Something needs to be done with the spam filter. As it is nearly everythng I recieve in my inbox is labeled "spam". Doesn't do me much good. And just labeling serves little purpose since the spam letters are still mixed in with the good. Otherwise I like this product.

Hi Socrfan,
Spam Monitor will not automatically delete spam for safety reasons just incase it accidentally detects a legitimate mail as spam. Instead what you can do is create a 'quarantine folder' to forward all your mail marked as **SPAM** into that folder which you can delete manually when you wish to.
To have the **SPAM** e-mails moved to another folder automatically:
1. Open Outlook Express
2. Right-click on 'Inbox'
3. Select 'New Folder'
4. Type Spam as the 'Folder Name'
5. Click on 'Tools' on the toolbar of Outlook
6. Select 'Message Rules'
7. Click on 'Mail..'
8. Click on 'New'
9. Tick 'Where the Subject line contains specific words' for box 1
10. Tick 'Move it to the specified folder' for box 2
11. In box 3:
a) Click on 'contains specific words'
b) Type **SPAM** in the new popup window, and click 'Add' then 'OK'
c) Click 'Move it to the specified folder'
d) Select the 'Spam' folder created in step 4
12. Click 'OK'
Your spam mails should automatically be moved into the 'Spam' folder now.

Hi AChen
It seems If i keep all the SM Settings as DEFAULT and not specify which emails is spam through black/white lists , ALL THE RECEIVED MESSAGES will be marked as SPAM. This is correct?
Thanks

This is incorrect, all received messages should not be classified as spam unless they are all spam emails.

WELL Anthony
Since the first PCTIS i have tested, if i use SM on default settings i have ALL the received messages marked as spam(the only way to avoid it is to put the email address in the whitelist). So ,what else should i do?
Thanks

In the AntiSpam history page the reason an email is marked as SPAM will be given. The most probable cause is the Learning Engine.
To fix/avoid this problem; you can turn the Learning Engine off for Spam detection in the AntiSpam Settings page.
Hope this helps :)

The Learning engine works by recognizing certain characteristics in an email that are typical of a SPAM email. Example, certain words used by spammers, Red text etc...
Once the learning engine is trained. You can use it for detection. This is what IS/Spam Monitor is doing. It's using the learning engine to help classify items that may be spam and this feature can be disabled at the users request.

Thanks Anthony
I have just 1 last question about SM
I can see in the GUI(SM info ) It seems to be counting My spam emails one by one(even if i just have installed a new beta version ) so I can see the info "SPam Detected "xx" " even if the new version have NOT detected ANY spam yet. So i dont think this is correct. I realy think Each new version should start to count the spams from ZERO. Its wrong?
Thanks

This looks like a bug as the count should start from 0. I have escalated this issue and we'll look into it.

Just to Put it on a better way
Lets imagine 115 has detected 2 spams
The new 119 will start to count the spams from 2 (and not from 0 as i think should be normal
This hapens from the first pctiss version i have instaled and its still hapened
Please note before use a new version i delete al references from the old in registry also
so yes i think its a bug

This answer is fine. But how then do you train the engine? I looked at the log to see what was marked as spam (meaning every email is marked as spam) to see if I can select "not spam" or similar. There is nothing to select. I set the filter to the lowest/safe setting and everything is marked as spam. Very frustrating. I'm ready to uninstall.
If I disable the learning engine, will the anti spam work?
