Hi
After some hours on hibernation state(i usually keep my computer working all the night and go to the bed) So when i wake up and click on tray icon, it makes the computer very very slow and almost freeze
The only way to solve it is rebooting the machine
I have made a test under the same conditions without SD installed and this problem seems not happen again
Its starting happen after SD 272 AND PCTIS beta 3
And it happens only if i leave the comp some hours without any activity
Please look into this
Thanks

Reported that issue in PCTIS Beta1, never got to test Beta2, but Beta3 seems to be somewhat better. Go far back in this forum and You'll find it an old issue. It takes in general as long to wake it up again as to re-boot.

HI
As additional info , i have to say i usually have a scheduled task runing on backgroud when this problem happens
So to be clear, the problems happens under the following conditions:
- SEVERAL hours on hibernation state, leaving the comp without ANY activity
- Scheduled full scan running on background
-So as mentioned above, when i click on tay icon, it makes my comp very slow and almost freeze
And i have to reboot the machine in order to solve it
If i uninstall SD the problem not exist
Hope this helps the developers to recreate this
Thanks

Vecchio:
As You state running Beta3 this should have been in the Beta forum.

I find that hibernation is flakey anyway, with or without SD, on any of my PCs, if left hibernating for more than a few hours (eg overnight).
Sorry, I'm using highly technical jargon here :) by "flakey" I mean the PCs won't wake up, so I have to reboot instead, and lose any unsaved information from open applications.

I understand what you mean my friend
But in fact if i uninstal sd i dont have this problem
And sometimes, click on tray icon makes my comp slow or also sometimes i just click the tray icon and the GUI dont appears(cant see it)
As i said before,i have problems only if i click on try icon
also, i have notice that end the "swdsvc.exe" process roling back sd to"spware doctor engine is istarting on "x"seconds" and so my system seems running well again
It start to happen,as i already have said before to, only with PCTIS Beta 3 and SD272
Again i hope i am helping the developers in order to solve it,and please be sure uninstall /install again dont solve the problem
I have already tried it
Thank you

Veccio, could it be that SD is hogging too many resources (especially memory)? What's your computer spec?

Hey Vecchio,
We are currently looking into this. The developers are aware of the issue with hibernation and PCTIS and we are currently testing SD to see if we can reproduce this. I'll keep you updated :)

Robin,
I have a license for sdav. this NEVER happens before v272, so,with 272,it start to happens all the time.As an example, i have a schedulled task to 11:00 AM. So, I go to sleep And when i wake up in the morning, I can see the tray icon working. So, if i click on this,it freezes, and i have to end the "swdsvc.exe" process to see sd running again. And testing the suite beta 3 i see the same happens
And again,i NEVER had this episodes before 272 and suite beta 3
Runing xp professional sp2 all updated
Hope this helps

OK Veccio, I agree that it looks like it's been introduced with SD272. I just wondered if the problem goes away if you uninstall PCTISS and keep SD running.

I don't know enough about it, sorry to say, because I'm still on 4.1 on my XP machines, and no anti-spyware on my Vista laptop. But I've been following the threads here closely, waiting for the right time to try v5.
Perhaps just try hibernating overnight, with v5-272 but without PCTISS, and see what happens.

The next release of SD should be just a few days away: let's hope they've fixed the problem.

Hi
Obviouslly running SD+AV and Threatfire free together causes this problem. If i have Threatfire and sd running and close TF when sd tray icon freezes,it becomes active as soon i close TF
I never know running TF +SpywareDoctor(Scanning) may cause problems,so i remove TF free
But so, this morning , when i turn on the machine(Previouslly totally off) and click in sd icon , i cant see the GUI again .snd so ,again i have to finish the"swdsvc.exe " proccess in order to see the GUI again
So it seems this company still need look into this
Thank you
