I went back to 41 after 272 really dragged on my laptop and had the conflict with xp on my desktop I'm giving it another month and then I'll buy ssmething else

also in trying to keep current; the download 272 sticky post has had on it for the last 2 maybe 3 weeks a notice that the missing adds ons will be available 'next week'.

Also as of this morning midwest u.s. time on the 23rd, the sticky on data version numbers was last updated on the 19th

Makes you feel sort of abandoned

If you abandon Spyware Doctor, that will be one less person paying for the privilege of being a beta tester for PCtools. How can you live with yourself?
You should want to pay them more to help sort their problems!

thank you

initially no problems on laptop but when i had to switch to laptop as main machine, slowdowns in browser openings and real slow downs when shutting down machine

on desktop the conflict with xp that sida? described occurred with multiply overlays describing can't find this file etc. Conflict did not occur if I fully shutdown sd5 and only turned it on after reboot, but wasn't worth the effort. Went back to 4.1

xp2 fully patched, avg anti-virus on, spybot, adaware avg av

can't test further as machine is in shop for extra memory (already had enough) and to verify that I really did eliminate trojan that sd5 and others missed

I'm not really sure what you mean? Did the laptop work fine with build 272? and what do you mean by switching the laptop to main and all these problems started occuring? Is the slow downs occuring with IE, Firefox etc, changing tabs? or general browsing? was kernel mode enabled-disabled?

What is conflicting with what? will also need more info on the "can't find this file" messages that is being displayed. Would have been good if you had screen dumps :)

didn't post screen shots since there were so many and they were identical to what sirmaru had already posted.

kernel mode was on

272 on laptop slowed down regular browsing with ie7 and made the shutdown of the laptop take forever. Both conditions stopped when i put back 4.1

never got to t3est 272 ib desktop as the problems that sir maru documented immediately occurred so i took of 272.

Cool. This looks like one issue many people are coming across recently. Hopefully next build will fix it.
