To lighten up the system as much as possible and be sure to avoid any conflict I un-installed my SAS.
Re-booted to be sure most was gone.
Went around to check that everything had disappeared after a round of CCleaner, both 'clean' and 'registry' and:
Gone everywhere except in IS Firewall. There it was still with full permission both for SAS and SAS update!!!
I little 'snag' here and there in programs installed for testing, un-install leaves a small 'businesscard' and it may be up and running again.

An un-installed program should atleast be out of the security programms 'permitted actions' guards and blocked from further activities!

This I considder a severe glitch.

When 'X'-ing it out to remove from list an annoying message comes up: This program no longer excists at location:.......

I know and the firewall should have checked that programs on the list excisted befor displaying!

Another 'red' x to get rid of the flag!

Hi
Most firewalls don't realise something is gone. I use ZoneAlarm and I have to manually delete the old entries.
At least PCTIS will tell you if it has changed (i.e. something else is using it to access internet).
Hope that helps

Awards are not won by being among 'the most' but being the best!!!!!!!!:D
Would probably not take too may '0' and '1' 's to make the firewall check if programs listed excits at start-up.

Hi
I constantly have to clear out the list in ZoneAlarm. Everytime I do Windows Updates there are a few extras that don't exist after the update. It's quite normal. However, I did once see in PCTFW that there was a "white window with a red cross" icon on applications that didn't exist, is that what you are querying?

That is what the 'non excistant' turns into when You try to delete. Just do another 'red' X, and it disappears.

Let me explain by giving an example: Some programs use Live Update by creating an update program which executes the update and then deletes the update program. If we do what you suggest then our firewall will pop up every time the live update program is created (very annoying). You can rest assure that there is no security risk because for every application we calculate a hash and if you put a different application with the same name the FW will notify you that the application has changed and ask for your confirmation again.
