Been on 'holiday' for a couple of weeks, no internet, no PC Tools: Great time!
Comming back it was time to restart everything and do some updates. My SD V5 updated itself to 272 with all guards, no need to download or install on top, but:
Due to 'old' Java, Adobe reader and some other programs I decided to uninstall old versions and download and reinstall new. SD V5 slowed everything down too much, shut-down was not enough, totally uninstall was the only way to get it all working at reasonable speed without lock-ups.
Instead of re-installing V5 I decided to give the ISS Beta a test run
on my old Compaq with a P4 -1,8Ghz, 512 (479) Mb RAM, 12 Gig used out of a 20 Disk (8 Free). Totally uninstalled my AVG, but kept SAS Trial (not on-guard, scan only) - nothing else but XP-SP2 and its latest updates.
It got in -it got up - in general with the same resource use as SD V5 - nothing 'changed, but not expected. Around 250 - 300MB in PF at 'idle'.
Went on the net using IE7: as in V5 a crawl, but worked. Went on my 'naughty' test at Sukebe links to test the cleaning and site guard. No reaction anywhere from siteguard, but lots of 'red' on the McAfee site advisor which even blocked access to cgi.sexlist.com! Closed IE7 and checked the history file. Kinghost cookies cleaned and quarantined according to the log. Ran CCleaner to double check and: There was the kinghost cookies and other naughties still left to be cleaned???????
Cleaned out and did a similar run with Firefox (updated to latest). In Firefox site guard blocked the cgi.sexlist which it did not react on in IE7 but nothing in history file about cookies-cleaning and quarantine. I have FF set to 'clean all' when closing, and another test run with CCleaner showd:Nothing - all gone. This is the same as in V5 - no change.
The GUI lives its own life. 2 hours after installation, it showed last update 14 hours ago?????? Today it shows: Today - 10 hours ago, but at that time my computer was turned off, I started it 3 hours ago. Last scan is likewiseToday - 14 hours ago,no it was yeasterday about 17 hours ago! Amazing this has not been sorted out yet. Not to forget that my time at the moment is 11.00 which gives 14 hrs ago = yeasterday!
A full system scan took 1,5 hours with root-kit enabled compared to around 45 min in SDV5, counter showed 245.000, almost the same as in V5 271, but since then Open Office has been added, AVG gone, new Adobe, new Jawa+++. The only problem during scan was a considderable hanging particularly in som Open Office ZIP files. It stopped up to 5 minutes.
So far after my short test, all the bugs from V5 are still there as they have been for months, nothing has changed, no improvements. Site Guard seem to be working at random, GUI and history file likewise.

But I'm back again so sharpen up. This suit should not be released until ALL of the old V5 garbage has been sorted out!;)

Hi Reodor and welcome back :)

Thanks for the feedback.

I'll pass this information along to the developers. Appears to be a bug with the Smart Update GUI display. See http://www.pctools.com/forum/showthread.php?t=49316.
