When I turn on my computer I get the boring old Booting Microsoft Windows 98 screen, and I want to change it. But when I go to edit logo.sys in my harddrive directory its not there, and when I try to find it on my computer doing a search its not there. So I created my own logo.sys with the proper width, height, colors, and everything. And I saved it in my harddrive directory. But now when I start my computer I get an error saying that theres an error in the first line of my config.sys file. And after showing the error it goes straight into windows; no microsoft bootup screen or nothing inbetween. So I deleted the logo.sys and now when I start my computer i get the old microsoft bootup again. Can anybody please tell me what is wrong so I can fix it.
Thanks!!

It's been awhile since I played with these files. I can't remember if there is a logo.sys file for the startup pic. (someone else here know?).
You can disable the startup pic by editing msdos.sys.

Open msdos.sys (remove the read-only attribute first) with notepad (add the line..

logo=0

example:

[Options]
BootMulti=1
BootGUI=1
DoubleBuffer=0
AutoScan=1
Logo=0
WinVer=4.10.1998

this will turn off the pic. A value of 1 will re-enable it.

I know you can replace the startup pic with your own.

here's a link to 57 programs that will do the job.
