Hello,

A few days ago, my computer suddenly out of no where doesn't boot properly.

What happens is that it boots to the screen where it says " Windows Xp Professional is Loading with the bar moving right " and right before the " Selection Screen " where you can choose your accounts, it RESTARTS.

This happens continuously loading, then restarting before the SELECTION screen.

I have asked a variety of people with experience and we have tryed many things such as :

- Safe Mode / Start Windows Normally/ Last configuration start

- Recovery Mode - chkdsk /r and /p

- Recovery Mode - Manual steps to recover a corrupted registry that prevents Windows XP from starting

- Booting with Windows CD

- Ultimate Boot Disk (Memory Check - Memtest86)

I do not want to reinstall windows because that would mean losing some drivers, etc which are located in windows, and some of the drivers i dont have or will take a very long time to find and download.

I wish to fix this booting problem so i can access the selection screen and be able to use my PC like a few days ago, i hope there is an alternative or some way someone can help me.

Thank you, James.

Doesn't seem as the question is about Windows NT, 2000 and XP Security.

Posting in the incorrect section of the forum doesn't hit the folks that may have an answer, such as those in the Windows Operating System Discussions and the Windows XP subsection.
