can't change paging files in Windows 2000

I have a problem in changing paging file in Windows 2000. The problem is when i try to change the paging file windows prompts me an error that "Windows will create a temporary paging file because of the problem that you have occurred with your paging file configuration when you started the configuration". I have encountered an error after login about the page file and it prompts in low virtual memory.

Please give me an idea or possible solution to solve this problem.

Set permissions for (user) SYSTEM to the hard drive where your pagefile is located. This worked properly at my machine!
