Hey!

I am new on the forum, greeting to all!I have found issue in Desktop Maestro,as well as Registry mechanic,they have same registry engine,or different?Whatever, i am using vista home premium.I have slower pc,so in order to gain more "speed" i disable some unneeded options,like error reporting,index etc...
When i dissable index in control panel(so i dont have nothing indexed in my index like user files,etc,to gain more speed),and i run scan with desktop maestro(registry mechanic same problem) i get 2 high priority entrances
Location:Hkey_local_machine \software\microsoft\windows\search\gather\windows\ systemindex

and same entrance one more time

ok,so i click on repair,run scan again,and those entrys dissapears.

I restart my comp,run scan again and those entrys appears.

i turn index options (user files and start menu indexing) like before,but guess what i get still that 2 entrys,and again,and again on every restart.

Fix that bug please,and i have one suggestion in c:\windows\prefect there is many unneeded files(all of them) so can you add this folder to clean(like temp files)i am doing that 5 years,and it is safe,pc want crash or something.

Hey uzi69,

I need to get some detailed information about the way Registry Mechanic is scanning. Please send us your Registry Mechanic log and data files by following the procedure below:

1. Start Registry Mechanic and complete a full scan (please do not complete a repair).

2. Close Registry Mechanic.

3. Go to the 'My Computer' -> "C:\Program Files\Registry Mechanic\Log" and also "C:\Program Files\Registry Mechanic\Data"

4. Please attach all files in both folders. Please see PM.

As soon as we receive the logs, we will analyze them and inform you when we have the results.

Sorry, i cant upload, or attach,security reasons.....company pc....
You can reproduce this problem,download registry mechanic, or desktop maestro(same engine,same issue),turn off index (control panel) All versions of vista,and you have a problem,2 high security entrys,who want dissapear,even if you turn on index again.
You can tell your friends on forum who have vista to reproduce this problem any send you logs.(It is realy issue,because turnig off index is not high security problem,you gain more speed,because vista automaticly index start menu,and user filles,for faster searching,but it slows down pc preformance.

Control Panel/Indexing Options/Modify/To remove a location, clear its check box in the Change selected locations list, and then click OK.

Restart PC

Run Desktop Maestro or Registry Mechanic

Windows Vista system indexing feature regularly place entries into your registry as part of their normal operation. For example, when you start your computer, it may write registry entries that relate to some program(s) on your hard disk that contains references used during system indexing enabled. When the system indexing is disabled, the program index referenced may be removed, but the registry entries still remain. This is when Registry Mechanic or Desktop Maestro detect these changes. It is the nature of the Operating System and our program's nature that compares registry entries and the actual referenced file(s), folder(s), or program(s).
