All I'm interested in doing is uninstalling Threatfire beta. When I try to do it via the control panel or through the program itself, all I get is a message that states that "unins000.dat does not exist". I thought that was happening because the program was active within memory, so I went to Msconfig and took it off the startup menu. When I rebooted, it wasn't loaded, but I still got the "unins000.dat does not exist". At this point I tried to delete the files using Unlocker, but all the files seemed to be protected somehow. I really don't want to go through the registry to remove all the Threatfire entries.
I'm hoping that someone can tell me how to get the program off my computer.

Did you try deleting the ThreatFire folder?
If not, can you see if the unins000.dat exists in the ~program files\ThreatFire\ folder?

If it is not there, I will send it one to you, and see if that will work.

Well, that sneaky file is in the main directory of Theatfire. When I look at the properties of the file, it states that it is an .exe file not a .dat file. I really don't know what that means though. Maybe that will be of some use to you. Thanks.

I will send you the .dat file that you need to put in there. I will need you e-mail address to send it to. Please reply via PM, and don't put your e-mail in this thread.

copy and paste this into your browser:
http://www.threatfire.com/files/RemoveThreatFire(3.0).zip

This should help you uninstall TF completely ... if you have ThreatFire 3.0x
