I upgrades to W2k recently. Everything was fine till my monitor died (it had been giving me problems anyway). I put an old Packard Bell monitor model 1511SL on it and since then the system volume control "knob" falls to zero whenever I try to play a sound file! It starts at a normal volume but drops to zero over the space of about 2 second as soon as I play anything. I've uninstalled & reinstalled my sound card, changed monitor drivers and rebooted umpteen times; no luck! Any suggestions??
