"Laggy" Screen

Hi, I've been having problems with viewing webpages, and moving windows on my desktop.

Whenever I scroll down a page, it doesnt move down smoothly, it seems to "lag" and move in large sections at a time and reload the image. It also does this when I move windows across my desktop screen.

Anyone know what this is or how to fix it?

Hi, is this a new computer that you just got? Otherwise, did this problem appear recently?

For me, I have encountered problems like that too. It was due to a shortage of video memory. I had only 8MB of video memory, so everything was laggy.

BUT this could also be because you are not using the Video Card Driver that came with your graphics card, and you are using the generic windows video driver. You might want to find out the model and brand of your graphics card, and download the latest drivers from your manufacter's website.

Assuming that you do not have enough video memory, when you boot up your computer go into the BIOS by pressing either the DEL key (Differs with different Bioses). Try to find something that says 'Video memory'. Put it at 16MB or if you have enough ram, bump it up to 32MB. See if you still have the problem. Hopes this helps!
