Hi
Whenever I click on Start > Shutdown it takes longer than before for the Shutdown menu to appear. When I uninstalled ThreatFire, the speed of the menu appearing went back to normal.
Any reason why this happens?
System info:
Windows XP SP2 fully patched
1.6GHz Intel Centrino
1GB RAM
NOD32 2.7 Antivirus
Zone Alarm Antispyware 7
CounterSpy 2.5

I've noticed a slowdown in the last three days and on Sunday night I had an error notice on shutdown which started TF something but I was too slow to catch it. Maybe it has a similiar problem to Prevx which seems to race with a windows process as to what should shutdown first. I have to say that last night I didn't get any error message, though, as I was waiting for it.

Confirmed. The slowdown happens here too. Wondered what was the problem first.

Hi
As far as I can tell, I think its the kernel driver(s), not too sure about that though. Would appreciate the opinion of the development team or one of the Novatix staff.
Its not specifically a massive issue, just something that may annoy a few folks!

This issue is being worked on for post beta release. I bothered the Dev about it, and they agreed ! :-D

Yes, thanks. It's not a very important problem but it would b good to get to the bottom of it.

I don't know whether this is relevant to TF but every time I log off I get a report in the event viewer as follows:
Warning Event ID 1517
'Windows saved user registry while an application or service was still using the registry during log off. The memory used by the user's registry has not been freed. The registry will be unloaded when it is no longer in use.'
It doesn't seem to cause any problem but when I had Prevx I encountered a similar problem and closed it down before logging off. I haven't tried to do that with TF.

I have not seen this behavior in house. Or seen it reported. I will keep an eye out for it though.

Could you explain a little more.
What other security software are you running for example?

We have Threatfire installed on our accounting server which has Windows 2003 on it. Reboots take approximately 5-8 minutes due to it taking forever for W2k3 to shutdown. Startup is not an issue.
Is Threatfire doing a scan of the system when it is shutting down? If so, how do I disable that function?
Please let me know how to get this resolved.

Hi
This issue should have been resolved in previous updates. What version of ThreatFire are you using? Do you have any other security software installed?
