installation problems

Hello !
I'm French and not very gifted for English language (I learned German at school...) ; but I would like to become some help :
my OS is W2k Pro (french) ; recently, I could'nt launch softwares, such as "Corel Flow" and "Corel Gallery" ; I decided to reinstall these softwares, but it's impossible : explorer reads the CD's contents, but setup does'nt start (it's the same with Encarta 99).
What's strange, it's that other softwares, such as products offered with magazines, can be installed without problems.
I recently used "Partition Magic 6.0" of Power Quest, in order to use both W2k and W98SE ; but I encountered problems and decided to uninstall this software, after it made changes (I cancelled these changes, before uninstalling Partition Magic) : is it the reason why I could'nt install some softwares ?

<font color=blue> If you Insert a installation CD, and it does not automatically give you the setup up screen, go to my computer, open the cd drive that the cd is in, in there you will see a setup.exe, double click it.

Also make sure you are an administrator, or power user. </font color=blue>
