Hi
Tried the "Basic" virus and rootkit scan with ThreatFire Pro and it took 40mins which isnt exactly quick, although it did scan my entire C:\ drive. Any way to make that a little quicker? I loved the speed of the quick rootkit scan in CyberHawk Pro.
Anther point, how do database updates for the AV engine occur? As without these the AV engine is a little pointless. I noticed that some databases came with the install package.

So far, so good with this new version. Keep up the good work!

The Quick scan was renamed because of the time it takes to do the RK+Virus scan.
It is possible that the scanning options will broaden for future versions, to enable a quicker anti-virus scan.

The AV db will be updated when there are AV db updates from PC Tools.

Hi
Sounds good :)
Are the updates downloaded automatically in the background? As every time I have checked for updates (even early in the morning) I receive no updates.

They will be done automatically if you have auto updates on, and that checks every 8 hrs or so, or you can click Smart Update and get them.

A question from a non-techie (me): For those who currently run Cyberhawk Pro, and eventually could change over to ThreatFire Pro (with AV?)...is AV going to be an integral component in ThreatFire Pro, so as to cause a conflict with those who simultaneously run Norton AV (for instance)?

Or, will users be able to suspend ThreatFire Pro's AV component so as to avoid multiple AV software conflicts?

Or, is ThreatFire Pro's only difference from the other version of ThreatFire (Free for home users?)...the addition of AV?

And, by the way, how long will Cyberhawk Pro (with any updates) be available to current users?

Thanks for your feedback.

Hi
The AV component in ThreatFire is on-demand only, i.e. it is only used in scans. There is no real-time element of the AV-engine so there should be no conflicts.
Hope that helps

Just want to say I'm using Cyberhawk Pro and like it, however the itch to try ThreatFire Pro increases each day. LOL. Seriously though, does anyone think TF will soon be stable enough to replace CH?

Seems pretty stable to me. What does everyone think so far?

Hi
I have to say that it is basically just a rebranded version of Cyberhawk, with barely any changes under the hood (there are a few rule updates). ThreatFire is good :)
