My boyfriend just told me that he has a "virus", however, I am pretty sure that this is not due to a virus.
He says that every time he opens IE, he is flooded with new windows of IE, with some virus/spyware removal program page as the homepage, but he can't even surf anywhere becuase new windows keep opening and it won't stop. I asked if he could change his homepage, but he says every time he changes it and presses OK, it simply changes back.
When he is just using his computer, sometimes Norton will prompt him asking him "iexplorer.exe is trying to..." and even if he presses the "x" on the window, the new windows keep opening.
I've had this before, a long long time ago, but was not sure how I fixed it. Can somebody here help?? Can this be fixed using a Malware removal tool??
