Thank you for the use you Free Excellent ThreatFire Beta Malware Tool.
I have a couple of questions that you may feel to be a tad stupid.
I know ThreatFire Beta is in the early stages of development however are there any compatibility issues that you may be aware of with programs such as Prevx2, Adaware, Spybot etc.
Would you consider running ThreatFire in conjunction with Prexv overkill?
Prevx and Avast AV are the only two malware programs running as resident protection on my system, would you consider ThreatFire to compliment them?
Hope you don't find my inquires too silly any help would be much appreciated.

Hi
While prevx is a pretty good program, running it alongside ThreatFire will probably cause you issues as they are both the same kind of application.
I strongly advise against running them both at the same time

In recent test PrevX missed 4 samples while CyberHawk missed only one. This test with 20 zero days threats was conducted by AV comparatives. So when you have not paid for PrevX, choose for ThreatFire

Thank you very much Kees1958
Very interesting results indeed. From time to time Prevx1/2 has caused significant problems on my system. It is on its last chance. I am extremely interested in ThreatFire and if Prevx falls over once more, I defiantly know what its replacement will be. As I have mentioned I have highly recommended ThreatFire Beta on a number of prominent security Forums
All the greatest success for the future

I have tested Threatfire with Prevx and have found no conflicts. Threatfire ran as it should and detected problems as it normally would.

Has any one else tested Prevx with threatfire? If so, have you noticed any conflicts or problems running the two side by side?

I had both running for about 2 months. Due to shutdown problems with Prevx I un-installed it and feel very good just running Threatfire, but I don't know if there is any actual conflict - I didn't notice any problems. Are two similar programs really necessary? I don't think so, but that's just IMO.
I still use Prevx Pro 2005. It provides yet another layer of defence and gives some extra protection from activex stuff. I have disabled the buffer overrun detection feature but all other features from the very final update for this software are in use.
Security apps which I use with Windows 2000 SP4 and Windows XP Pro SP2 are as follows: -
Agnitum Outpost Firewall Pro ver. 4.0.1007.7323 (591)
Prevx Pro 2005
Spyware Doctor 4.1.0.1
AVG Free 7.5
Threatfire 3.0.13
Asquared AntiDialler 3.0
System Safety Monitor Free 2.0.8.583
Spybot - Search and Destroy 1.5
Spyware Blaster 3.51
AMUST 1-Defender
My systems run with no stability issues whatsoever. I have no malware issues. I like to know what is going on with my systems and find System Safety Monitor very useful. It makes my computers discouragingly difficult for anyone else to use!
Threatfire behaves better and better with each succeeding update. It is now very well behaved indeed.
