Hi bmxdude,
The reason for this could be the caching with your isp. Give it another try and see if you can download SDv5.0.5.259. I have just tested this again and all seems to be working. Let me know if you are still having problems and I could email you the set-up file for SD.

I dunno what to do, i once again uninstalled and re-installed with a fresh download from the site, i can clearly see on the download page that its the new version at file information but somehow i'm not getting the correct executable.
would anyone be able to email me the correct version please?:(

Hi bmxdude,
Could you try deleting all instances of sdsetup.exe, you may want to perform a search for this file and also empty your temporary internet files then try downloading Spyware Doctor directly from: http://www.pctools.com/downloads/sdsetup.exe

I have done what you said, deleted all the sdsetup.exe instances that I could find, uninstalled .205 and downloaded from the link provided, I even cleaned out all my temporary folders and downloaded the file in internet explorer instead of firefox, but to no avail.
I want to ask a few questions:
1. If I right click on the installation file and go to properties, and click on version it reads file version: 5.0.1.205 should it read 5.0.5.259? because then i'm still getting the wrong executable
2. what size is the new version? is it any different than the previous one?
thanks

A Chen:
This problem is a bit interesting, and I think is might be a 'growing' problem unless You do a slight change in the download from PC Tools.
In more and more 'multi-appartments' buildings central servers are installed, the individuals just gets out through the server. In order to reduce server bandwith downloaded files are stored for a limmited time on the server, when someone request a download, the server simply looks to se if that file is in 'stock'. PC Tools does not identify the different file versions at download, the server does not know that there is another version, and just deliver the 'stored' one. The customer believes he gets the file from PC Tools, but instead from a local network server.
Suggest You change the download address so the file version is included in the download address.

I have sent you an email with the SD 5.0.5.259 setup. Let me know if you have any problems.
stickler - if you would like me to send the setup file, please PM me your email address.
Reodor, thanks for the feedback. I have already forwarded this on. This could be related to the ISP not checking whether there is a new version of the file by doing a HTTP HEAD request on it.
