...Vista 64bit version yet? I am missing my Spyware Doctor and Registry Mechanic!!

Me too. There is a possibility this will take a while, I hope some security vendors will make a move after Vista SP 1( Microsoft may still modify the kernel)

Bump because I'm still hopeful this is progressing and I'd bet people look for it alot.

Thanks to the dev's for moving ahead :)

I wish PCtools least bring something out for Vista64. I still enjoy SD5 in XP, but starting to find I am using Vista64 more and more.. counterspy at present is filling the void

Do I really need a security application for 64-bit Vista? Vista will have its Windows Defender by default so should that be enough?

Windows Defender is very definitely not "enough". /chuckle

Any more news on a Vista 64 bit version?

Hello every body,

Well there have been no updates about Spyware Doctor 64bit version. But looking at the number of our customers interested, I think it will be worth giving it a thought. I will escalate the issue to the managment.

Cheers !!

<CHEER> ... becuase in 32 days my subscriptions runs out and i will be aggresively seeking a Vista 64bit application to replace Spyware Doctor if PCtools dont come to the table. Its sad, as v5 is finally there... but I want to move onto Vista64 on both of my PC's so now there will be little point in renewing for a product which is not compatible.

I'm very interested as well. I think PC Tools should post a poll on their site about 64 bit support. I'm planning on moving to 64 bit ASAP.

any updates yet on a version that will work in Vista64? Not talking about a true 64bit app but at least work like version 4 does.

We are still currently reviewing 64bit support and which products will be available. I will fill you in on the details once I receive further comments.

As stated in previous postings, I am waiting until 64-bit software becomes the norm for average PC users (such as me), and then I plan to replace this 7-years-old (no longer average, upgraded) PC with what then should be a state-of-the-art PC.

PC Tools, Your CEO is no dummy. The first successful developers into the 64-bit anti-malware software marketplace (with good post-beta product) stand the best chance of grabbing the first-in-the-door 64-bit $hopper$.

...pacing and also being first; Best wishes.

Achen, any news yet on when a version will be released that supports Vista64. There are a number of competitive products now which work in Vista64 eg. S&D, AVG Spyware App etc.. .

Needless to say I think its pretty bad form that even the free non commercially funded products have been updated to work in Vista64 whilst PCtools still holds out. With a new Beta in the works there is still no mention.

I just received my notification that my subscription is due for renewal, to which I will be holding out until I hear a solid update.

PCtools has to realise that Vista64 is being taken up by many users, to the point now that even games of all things are now releasing 64bit versions of their products (Crysis). Whilst I am not asking for a full 64bit version of SD (which would be great), but just to have the existing x86 version working.

I still think SD is a great product and have been using it since you guys first released.

Please provide more info.

Patiently, many are waiting for the Vista 64 version of SD. This thread will likely be updated when it's available.

I understand that you guys are waiting for the 64bit version and I would really like to give you guys an answer. But at this stage no timeframe has yet been set and apologize that I am unable to give you a precise answer. I will definitely update this when I hear of something.

Keeping this alive, even though there is no time frame given yet on when we might see it.

Just adding in my request, After reading Maximum PC's great review of your software, Beating even AntiBot which costs 30$ a year, Obviously I really want it!!! But sadly there is no Vista 64 support yet, I'll even pay for this program once I can use it!!

Here is another Bump because I started a similar thread (http://www.pctools.com/forum/showthread.php?t=50702) and I hope that PCTools is taking this seriously and like someone in the thread said, it doesn’t have to be full 64Bit, it just needs to install and run on Vista 64Bit, that would at least be a good start.

Yep I too keep checking back periodically on this very topic.

:)

I'm hopeful it will "get there" gradually.

Will some one let us know whether PC Tools will ever consider 64-bit. I have renewed my Spyware Doctor but not yet Registry Mechanic. Achen, give us something....

Just another bump to say I would buy this product if it ran in Vista x64!

I'd also like a 64 bit version. :)
I would like to make the jump to 64 Bit Vista. However, I want to do it knowing there are 64 bit versions of Spyware Doctor and Registry Mechanic available. :)

Hi All,

This is currently under development and when I can comment more, I'll provide an update :)

I'm very interested as well since I'm no longer running Spyware Doctor on my main PC. I'm also near to be ready to renew as well, so w/ only two computers running it now being able to do x64 on Vista would be the kicker.

I so wanna come back to SD, but I aint changing OS back to vista32.. just no benefit in it for me.

I still love to know why Pctools dropped the ball.. free software of this nature have supported 64bit Vista for months now... so what is the excuse? too busy fixing v5.. cause lets be honest.. it isnt really the same caliber as v4
