hey everyone !
i work for IT support in a company. So I wish to know if i can get a portable version of Spyware Doctor. it helps me clean a user's PC as fast as possible without waiting to install, which takes a lot of time.
Thanks !

Hi Josh84
In order to run Spyware Doctor, you'll need to install it on an Operating System. At this stage, we do not have a portable version.

Any plans to do so or create a plugin so that it can be run under useful utils like Bartpe to remove the stubborn running spyware.

Hi
Have you tried the Alternate Operating System Scanner (AOSS) from PC Tools? It is a downloadable ISO CD image that creates a bootable CD to scan outside of the Windows operating system. You can use database updates from Spyware Doctor 4.x from USB as well.

it doesn't detect the USB, well, it detects it.....but the Database file does not get loaded. It just shows detecting USB and waits like tat. The scan works when the detection is skipped.......takes a long time to complete the scan, good tho !
How can i get it to detect the database file and scan it ?
Guys at the Pc Tools...........Gr8 work !

Hi
Which version of Spyware Doctor are you using? It only works with the database from version 4.x (apparently a newer version is on the way that can use version 5 database)

or you could just ask a 4.1 user for the databases

SD 4.1 uses a .bin file whereas 4.0 used the refdb.dat file that is required by AOSS. You need to get the database of a 4.0 user...

Hi All,
I have attached the latest refdb.dat from SDv4. If users would like to use AOSS, please copy the file onto a USB drive.

Which also answers my question from the Spy Doctor forum about refdb.dat
thanks! :D

Hi Josh84,
Please note that AOSS is not a replacement for Spyware Doctor. It is designed as a last resort tool that is to be used if a system that is heavily infected with malware that the computer can not boot to a state where Spyware Doctor can run.
