View Full Version : Windows Vista hard drive always on ?
Hello all, I have installed Vista home premium I have 4 gb ram but the hard drive seems always to be very active ? and startup to fully loaded desk top seems very slow ?
any tweeks around to help this ?

I've read about this alot, the solution seems to be to leave it, and wait a few days, by that time it should settle down, your not the only one having this.

I wonder if the limitation of 3GB RAM on the 32-bit versions of Vista has anything to do with it?

it just does that:(
you could quiet it down using process tamer
if you use the powermanagement settings to limit the max CPU usage that can stop it but at the expence of gaming proformance

Thats because vista is indexing your files, its used for find ur files faster when searching
