I was totally frustrated  , when I finally figured out the reason of the problem, which recently caused Vista 32bit Ultimate freeze and no responding at all. Recently everytime I attached a new USB Device( a new USB mouse or a USB Mobile Storage Device or a Digital Camera) to my computer, when the system is trying to detect and install the device driver, the swdsvc.exe would reach almost 50%-100% CPU consumption, and, this is not the worst, Vista 32bit OS would totally freeze and no responding at all, explorer.exe will be out of respondence and so did the keyboard. But if you opened a task manager prior than you hoocked up a USB Device to your computer, you got the chance to terminate the swdsvc.exe process, and then system would keep installing the USB device's driver and everything would be just FINE! But, at this point, you need to restart SD5 to avoid a further problem.
For now, there are two ways for you to avoid this problem:
1. Disable OnGard when you are trying to hook up a new USB Device.
2. Open a task manager before you are trying to attach the device and keep an eye on the swdsvc.exe, if it spikes up the cpu usage, terminate it and after the installation, restart SD5.
Good Luck.:)
PS. If anyone or the administrator has any further suggestion or you can do a comfirm test under your Vista environment, please leave a comment in this thread.
